The Archdiocese of Guwahati Youth Commission (AGYC) serves as the official youth apostolate of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Guwahati. Based at the Peace Center in Ambari, we accompany thousands of young men and women in their faith journeys, professional ambitions, and social service.
Under our diocesan motto, “Youth for Peace and Progress”, AGYC equips young Catholics to become responsible citizens and active missionaries in their parishes, schools, and workplaces.

Sr Jerina N Marak MSMHC
Appointed as Youth Director in 2023 during the Diocesan Youth Convention. With a spiritual journey marked by deep faith and dedicated service (First Profession: Dec 8, 2011; Final Profession: Dec 8, 2017), Sr. Jerina guides Catholic youth across the Archdiocese with wisdom, pastoral care, and spiritual formation.
G Aman Rao
Elected as Diocesan Youth President in 2024 during the General Body Meeting. A dynamic and visionary young leader, Aman spearheads initiatives to empower young people in spirituality, career readiness, and active parish participation across the Archdiocese.
Sunaina Minj
Elected Vice President in 2024 with rich prior leadership experience as DEXCO Cultural Secretary and Zonal Secretary for Guwahati Zone. Known for proactive organizing and inspiring young women into leadership roles.
Marina Basumatary
Elected Diocesan Youth Secretary in 2024. Recognized as an energetic, methodical, and inspiring administrator who maintains records, manages inter-parish correspondence, and keeps the youth commission organized.
Jaunt P Bora
Elected Joint Secretary in 2024. An active REXCO member and Regional Youth Treasurer for ICYM North East, Jaunt also serves as Zonal President for Nagaon Zone, bridging regional policy with local grassroots action.
Merwin Vais
Elected Liturgy Secretary in 2024 and serves concurrently as Zonal Youth President for Guwahati Zone. Merwin directs choir arrangements, altar servers, youth masses, and Eucharistic adoration across the Archdiocese.
Susana Kispotta
Elected Cultural Secretary in 2024. Renowned for exemplary talent in performing arts and dance choreography, Susana enriches youth conventions and feast celebrations with vibrant cultural heritage.
Jowash I Sangma
Elected Media Secretary (Photography) & Treasurer in 2024. His creative visual storytelling captures the pivotal moments of AGYC missions, alongside maintaining meticulous financial transparency.
