2.1 Personal Information You Provide

When you register an account or use our Services, we may collect:

• Account Information: Email address, password (stored securely in hashed form), and full name
• Profile Information: Age, phone number, parish, zone (Nagaon, Rangia, Goalpara, or Guwahati), profile photo/avatar, organization, designation, and bio
• Job Portal Information: Resume/CV documents, job application messages, contact email, and contact phone number

2.2 Information from Third-Party Services

If you sign in using Google Sign-In, we receive:

• Your Google account email address
• Your Google display name
• Your Google profile photo URL

We do not access your Google contacts, calendar, or any other Google services beyond basic authentication.

2.3 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our Services, we may automatically collect:

• Device Information: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers
• Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the Services
• Log Data: IP addresses, browser type, access times, and referring URLs

2.4 Local Storage

The AGYC App stores a secure authentication token locally on your device using SharedPreferences to keep you signed in between sessions. This token is removed when you sign out.

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Account Management: To create and manage your account, authenticate your identity, and provide access to our Services
• Community Features: To display your profile within the AGYC community, connect you with your parish and zone, and facilitate youth programs
• Job Portal: To process job applications, connect job seekers with employers within the Catholic community, and manage job listings
• News & Updates: To provide you with the latest news, events, and announcements from the Archdiocese of Guwahati Youth Commission
• Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and improve the overall user experience
• Communication: To respond to your inquiries, send important notifications about your account, and share relevant updates about AGYC activities

We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

• Passwords are never stored in plain text. They are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption before storage
• Authentication tokens are generated using JSON Web Tokens (JWT) and transmitted securely
• Data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure (Cloudflare) with encryption at rest and in transit
• File uploads (avatars, resumes, news images) are stored on secure cloud storage with access controls

While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

• Within AGYC Community: Your profile information (name, zone, parish) may be visible to other authenticated AGYC members for community purposes
• Job Applications: When you apply for a job, your application details (name, email, resume, message) are shared with the respective employer/poster
• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party services including Cloudflare (hosting and data storage) and Google (authentication) that may process data on our behalf
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation
• With Consent: We may share your information for any other purpose with your explicit consent

Our Services are intended for youth and young adults within the Catholic community. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us at the email address below. We will take steps to remove such information from our systems.

You have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access: You can view your personal information through your profile page in the app or website
• Update: You can update your profile information at any time through the profile settings
• Delete: You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us
• Withdraw Consent: You can sign out at any time, which removes the local authentication token from your device
• Data Portability: You can request a copy of your personal data by contacting us

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our Services. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Job application data is retained for the duration of the job listing and for a reasonable period afterwards to fulfill the application process.
